Stash: Remember Everything vs Voicenotes
Last checked: October 22, 2026
The short version
Pick Stash if you want an AI notes app for text, photos, links, and short voice capture, with a hosted MCP server your own agents can read and write.
Pick Voicenotes if you want a voice notetaker for meetings and memos, including audio recording on Apple Watch.
"The notetaker for your confidential meetings." (Voicenotes homepage)

Stash: Remember Everything, by Grafted Software
Capture. Type or speak in the app (speech to text), use the share sheet, the Home Screen widget, or the Shortcuts extension, or dictate on Apple Watch. Stash does not record meeting audio. Offline notes queue on the device and are summarized when you are back online.
AI organization. Zero prompts. Every note comes back with a summary and tags, stored as Markdown. Deep Research is a separate report you start on a summarized note.
Agent access. Stash runs a hosted MCP server. Search, read, update, and delete are free. Creating notes and Deep Research use a monthly allowance: 30 summaries and 5 Deep Research reports per UTC month on the free plan. Ask (questions across your notes) needs Stash Pro. Agents can write back.
Export. PDF or Markdown.
Privacy. Encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, not end to end. Summaries use Anthropic's Claude through OpenRouter.
Platforms. iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. No Mac, web, or Android app yet.
Price. Free to download. The free plan is 30 summaries and 5 Deep Research reports per UTC month. Stash Pro is an optional App Store subscription that raises those limits.
Voicenotes
What they say. Their homepage headline is "The notetaker for your confidential meetings." The same page says it is available on macOS, iOS, Windows, Android, web, and Watch.
Capture. Their watch page says you can record on Apple Watch and on Android watches, including while offline, and that transcription runs once the watch is connected again.
Pricing. Their help center says Basic is free, with 100 minutes a week of transcripts and summaries, and Pro is $9 per user per month with unlimited transcripts, dictation, and history.
Agent access. Their help center documents a hosted MCP server at https://api.voicenotes.com/mcp. The tools named there are search_notes, list_notes, get_transcript, and create_text_note.
Not verified on the pages checked today, so not compared here: whether MCP requires Pro, end to end encryption, and a Deep Research style report.
When to pick them instead
- You record meetings and want a transcript plus a summary.
- You want audio recording on a watch, not only dictation.
- You work on Mac, Windows, Android, or the web.
